Why it’s time to recognise the people powering media

Written by Izzy Branson-Hammond, Marketing Manager, Festival of Media

The media industry has always celebrated great campaigns, groundbreaking strategies and innovative ideas that disrupt the norm and push media forward. However, behind every piece of work is something even more important, exceptional leadership and talent.

From inspiring teams to being a powerful decision maker it is the people behind the work who shape the future of our industry. As media continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, recognising these individuals has never been more important.

That’s why the Festival of Media is calling for nominations from outstanding leaders across the globe as part of the M&M Global Awards Leadership Categories, delivered in partnership with The Media Leader Awards. This collaboration brings people recognition to the world’s most respected platform for global media and looks to celebrate the individuals who are driving progress across agencies, brands, media owners and adtech.

The Leadership Categories shine a spotlight on those who are not only delivering commercial success, but inspiring the next generation of talent, championing inclusion, embracing innovation and redefining what great leadership looks like in today’s media landscape.

The five categories include:

  • Media Agency Leader
  • Media Owner Leader
  • Brand/Advertiser Leader
  • Adtech Leader
  • Future Media Leader

Together these categories recognise both established industry figures and the emerging leaders already making a significant impact on the future of media.

For decades the M&M Global Awards have celebrated the world’s best media campaigns, recognising excellence in creativity, strategy and effectiveness. Now, for the first time, the programme is also recognising the people whose vision, resilience and leadership make those campaigns possible.

While campaigns may capture headlines it is great leaders who build culture, inspire teams to think differently and create environments where new ideas and concepts can thrive. They navigate change, embrace new technologies, develop future talent and continuously push the industry forward.

Celebrating exceptional individuals not only rewards personal achievement but also raises standards across the industry. It encourages organisations to invest in people and highlights role models for future generations and showcases the diverse talent shaping the future of global media.

If you know someone who deserves to be recognised, or believe your own achievements have helped move the industry forward now is the time to enter.

Recognition matters because leadership matters.

The final deadline for entries into the Leadership Categories is the 14th Septemeber, contact the team today to request an extension or for any queries about your entry at: fomawards@festivalofmedia.com
