At Festival of Media the team are always talking to the global media industry to ensure the awards progammes are continuously evolving. The team take pride in creating inclusive, client heavy juries, while curating categories that allow the industry to amplify and showcase their work around the world.
We love to be inspired by what is happening around the world in various industries and trying to understand what trends and insights we could develop to help grow the business and further the industry.
For the last four to five years AI has been one of the dominant topics around the world and you can’t look past an industry event agenda without it being discussed at least once and what it means for media, or the industry news revealing that someone is launching an AI initiative.
There is also an understandable nervousness about what it means for jobs in various sectors – including ours – but at the same time it opens lots of opportunities and a new set of job skills to be learnt.
About six months ago we started talking to a new business about an AI tool it was developing to change the face of the awards industry. With the excitement of an opportunity to be at the forefront of the media industry and to make the awards submission process simpler we have taken a leap of faith and created the AI FOM Entry Navigator in partnership with Compass for Festival of Media Global.
The beauty of this tool allows anyone to input a post campaign analysis report, or a summary of the work and the tool will suggest a summary of how the entry should look in the FOM Global template and then provides five key category recommendations and the reasons why, based on the past awards data from the programme. It also provides a 24/7 concierge tool that allows users to ask any questions about the awards programme, or contact the team.
And the feedback has been fantastic so far with one of our entrants extolling the virtues of the tool only yesterday: “I must say it’s a great tool and I haven’t spotted similar across other awards. It’s super helpful for sense checking or uncovering previously unconsidered categories, particularly when navigating multiple submissions.”
One of the biggest barriers to entering awards is not knowing what category to place the work in and to have a summary of the potential entry created that can be used as a foundation to write the submission.
Either way we have embraced AI and we’d love for you all to make a leap with us. Try the tool and take away the stress of entering awards.
