In October 2022 Prime Video released “Argentina, 1985”, Santiago Mitre’s film inspired by the true story of prosecutor Julio Strassera and his young legal team who dared to accuse the last Argentine military dictatorship against the clock and under constant threat. This trial made history for being the first in the world in which a civilian court convicted military commanders for crimes against humanity, but time, politics and social rifts clouded the country’s memory. How could a foreign brand like Prime Video regain interest in Argentina’s most important trial? And, furthermore, how were we going to get the public to watch it on Prime Video after a month of overwhelming success in theaters?
