The purpose of dentsu’s Social Impact & Sustainability policy is to ensure that the company’s Value Creation Model, 2030 Social Impact Targets and the ambition underpinning them are embedded across the organisation. The policy sets out what is required from the business for environmental management, sustainability reporting and compliance, and volunteering leave allowance. The latter enables all dentsu employees to take up to two days paid leave each year to volunteer in their community. Many employees also contribute to pro-bono projects, offering professional services free of charge to worthy organisations.
To engage employees with dentsu’s Social Impact strategy and build a culture of volunteering across the business, we launched a global employee volunteering campaign, One Day for Change (ODfC). Supporting dentsu’s broader Social Impact strategy and commitment to build a more sustainable world, the campaign aimed to protect and restore nature through community volunteering, with five key objectives:
• Inspire behaviour change in employees to contribute to a sustainable world.
• Contribute to activities that help protect wildlife, oceans and local habitats.
• Educate employees on sustainability topics and solutions, helping them understand the connection between community engagement and dentsu’s Social Impact strategy.
• Involve at least 20% of our people in volunteering through One Day for Change.
• Help employees to recognise they can be a force for good when they unite around a shared purpose.
