Around the world e-cigarettes, aka vapes, have been presented as a less harmful alternative to smoking, which thanks to decades of anti-smoking messaging from authorities, continues to decline.
But it isn’t harmless, and young Australians in NSW are being deceived into thinking it is. So, we needed to change this perception, stopping youth from developing an addiction, before it starts. Hidden and hard to detect, the same holds true for the online culture – the space where our youth spend their time.
Our task: alter the perception that vaping is harmless, engage teens to prevent initiation, and motivate those who are vaping to quit.
