Cervical cancer, commonly caused by HPV infection, claims over 30,000 lives annually in China. It is lethal but preventable through HPV vaccination. MSD is committed to building a shield for saving lives. However, the supply of vaccine has difficulties in matching the demand historically. It was commonly known that it was only available for female who were 26 years old or younger.
2022 August has brought good news. Under the Healthy China 2030 Blueprint, HPV vaccination was made more widely available. It is finally available to a wider group, females from 27-45 years old. Yet, the uptake was much lower than expected. People generally believe that 27+ has already passed the best age to be protected from HPV. They are in no urgency to be vaccinated.
Our mission is to continue the effort to save lives from the preventable HPV disease by turning awareness into action through education.
