We had the pleasure of interviewing Ana Valdivieso, Creative Director for Pagés BBDO, one of our fantastic winners from the 2024 Festival of Media Latin America Awards. Ana shared what it is like to win a Festival of Media Award, the impact on the business internally and externally, the lessons she will apply to future campaigns, the best thing about entering industry awards and how they persuaded the client to enter the work.
What impact has winning a Festival of Media Award had on your company or team, both internally and externally?
The truth is that winning at festivals like FOMG, which recognize beyond the creative idea, is a great achievement for industries like ours. They show that despite great thinking, implementation, strategy and execution are crucial to their success.
What lessons from your winning campaign are you applying to future projects, and how do you plan to stay ahead in the competitive media space?
This new achievement definitely changes the perspective with which we conceptualize ideas for our clients. It has brought us to a scheme of thinking in which we have to take care of everything from the conceptualization to the final implementation of the campaign. It’s not just about thinking about the idea; seeing the creative opportunities in media and placement is precisely the ingredient that makes those concepts grow.
When did you first realise this campaign was award-worthy?
When I saw the impact it had on people’s lives and how unexpected it was for everyone to see a campaign with a message like breast cancer awareness, on channels like OnlyFans.
Besides winning what’s the best thing about entering industry awards?
To have the satisfaction that the work done meets the demanding global standards and that, despite being a small country, communication is done in a way that breaks the mold.
How did you persuade the client to enter the work?
Having a client who trusts and believes in great ideas is like finding gold. For years we have had a close relationship with Farmacia Carol thanks to the trust placed in campaigns like this one. Seeing results like winning at FOMG is definitely an indicator that the bet is the right one.
