The youngest of the Festival of Media regional programmes it was launched in 2017 and has significantly grown every year since its inception. It recognises, benchmarks and amplifies the best of the best media work from North America and Canada.
PHD emerged as the undisputed powerhouse of this year’s North America awards, securing all three Grand Prix titles in a clean sweep that reinforces their position at the forefront of the industry.
Hosted in Initiative at IPG Mediabrands in New York this year’s ceremony brought the industry together to network and celebrate the very best in media from North America and Canada. The evening opened with an educational content session featuring Social Element, Initiative and SharkNinja, exploring how brands are investing in and building valuable communities within the content creator economy.
With Agency Network of the Year awarded to PHD Worldwide the celebration continued as PHD USA claimed Campaign of the Year for its powerful and insightful ‘Just Joking’ campaign. Rounding out an exceptional night PHD was also named Agency of the Year, reinforcing its position as one of the most impactful forces in the region over the last 12 months.
All of the trophy winners were determined during three intense judging sessions hosted at Index Exchange in 3 World Trade Center.
“This year’s judging sessions were full of lively debate and thoughtful discussion showcasing innovative uses of media channels and in some case the curation of news ones to deliver outstanding results for clients. It was a privilege to witness the standard of work being set in the region over the last 12-18 months,” said Leah Mellard, Awards Manager, Festival of Media North America.
Other campaigns receiving the most accolades this year included ‘Cesar x TripAdvisor: Dog Friendly Travel’ from EssenceMediacom US and ‘Real Beauty Redefined for the AI Era’ from Mindshare US, highlighting the depth of talent across the competition. With the standard of work higher than ever the field was so strong that four campaigns – from three agencies Initiative Canada, Publicis Media US and two campaigns from Cossette Media – tied for 4th place.
These campaigns propelled their agencies, Cossette Media, Mindshare US, Initiative Canada, and EssenceMediacom US, into the top five most awarded of the year with PHD USA continuing its winning streak and leading the pack.
The top performing brands were Dove, securing the top spot for the second year running, followed by Sandy Hook Promise, Decathlon Canada, Cesar, and Wendy’s.
