Senior Director Marketing & Ebusiness, Copa Airlines
Marco Antonio Ocando is the Senior Marketing and eBusiness Director at Copa Airlines, the fastest-growing airline in Latin America, with service to more than 75 destinations in 31 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean from its hub at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, Panama.
Ocando has more than 21 years’ experience in various areas of marketing and communications. He joined Copa Airlines in September 2009 and has overall responsibility for the airline’s brand identity, communications and product, including oversight of the company’s Advertising, Sponsorships, Public Relations and on-board Product experience. Since March 2016 Ocando was promoted to Senior Director for Marketing and eBusiness, gaining additional responsibility for all aspects of the airline’s digital experience (the $400-million-dollar copa.com business, mobile website/apps and digital marketing) and its ancillary revenue streams.
Prior to joining Copa Airlines, Ocando was Marketing Director at Pernod Ricard Venezuela for more than four years and worked in Brand Management at P&G Latin American Headquarters in Venezuela for eight years, including almost five years as Brand Manager for various business areas.
Ocando has won numerous awards for marketing campaigns and professional excellence and in 2007 was selected among the “100 Most Successful Managers in Venezuela” by GERENTE Magazine. He has also been named among Central America “Top 100 marketers” by Strategy and Business Magazine for three years in a row dating back to 2014.
Ocando graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
A native of Ciudad Ojeda, Venezuela, Ocando is married and fluent in Spanish and English.
