As Miami Bureau Editor of the BBC’s Spanish-language service, BBC Mundo, Liliet Heredero leads on the transformation of its Miami bureau into a bilingual and multimedia hub for the BBC.
Cuban-born Liliet has years of experience as an editor, TV presenter and multimedia producer for the BBC.
Liliet joined BBC World Service in 2008 as a producer for BBC Mundo and went on to lead on the launch of the daily one-minute video news bulletin on bbcmundo.com.
As a BBC journalist, she has created reports on a wide range of topics and produced and presented the coverage of the Hispanics perspective on the 2016 US presidential elections, as well as London Calling and the award-winning TV programme, My City.
Liliet played an important role in the recent development of live TV programming for BBC World Service, including the launch of TV bulletins in four languages – Pashto, Kyrgyz, Burmese and French – as well as providing content and support for existing TV programming for BBC Russian, BBC Swahili and BBC Urdu.
Before joining the BBC, Liliet hosted a number of major programmes on Cuban TV such as the Breakfast Show and Paréntesis on Canal Educativo of Cuban National Television.
Liliet has a Degree in Journalism from the University of Havana School of Communications.
