Born on 25 April 1981 in Sao Paulo in Brazil, not far away from the Interlagos circuit, at the age of nine Felipe Massa was already behind a wheel.
In 2002 Felipe made his Formula One debut at the Australian GP with Sauber-Petronas. By the end of the season he had claimed four points and started work as a test driver for Ferrari, his full-time occupation in the 2003 season.
Felipe returned to a race seat in 2004 with Sauber-Petronas. He then signed as a race driver for Ferrari in 2006. 2011 was his sixth season with Ferrari and he finished sixth in the Drivers’ Championship for the 2nd time.
2013 was Felipe’s last season with Ferrari. He joined WILLIAMS MARTINI RACING in 2014, where he has scored five podiums and a 16th career pole position at the 2014 Austrian Grand Prix. Felipe announced his retirement from the sport at the 2016 Italian Grand Prix, but re-joined Williams for the 2017 season
