Matt began his media career in 1989 in the UK with CIA Group
(now MEC), working on the TV buying assignments of British Telecom
and H.J. Heinz. After six years, he moved to the Leo Burnett media
department as Broadcast Manager responsible for McDonald's and
United Biscuits.
1999 saw the UK launch of Starcom where he was promoted to Media
Director of the UK team. In 2000 Starcom merged with Motive and he
returned to his buying roots being appointed to the UK Negotiation
Director role in the newly merged business.
In 2003, Starcom merged with MediaVest and Matt became Executive
Buying Director of Starcom MediaVest Group with a further expansion
of client responsibilities including Scottish Courage, 20th Century
Fox, Kraft Foods and Activision.
After 15 years in the UK media business, and with ambition to
develop both international and general management experience, in
2005 he took on the CEO role in Middle East and North Africa. Based
in Dubai, with responsibility for 220 people across 7 markets, he
led a rapidly growing and market leading business with a local and
multinational client base.
Matt returned to the UK in 2008 to become Global Client Services
Director for Starcom MediaVest Group, leading the technology client
practice within the Group and with management responsibility for
the International client team based in London.
In 2010, Matt was promoted to Executive Director, Global Client
Operations adding management responsibility for the global client
leadership team, global investment, technology solutions and
knowledge management.
Matt's current role is President, Emerging Markets with
management responsibility for our business in Central and Eastern
Europe, Turkey, Middle East, India and South East Asia. Matt is
also a member of the SMG Global Executive Management Group.
